Gift Exchange Decorum Question

Hey all, first timer gifted here. Very excited, as I am sure everyone else is here!! Just wanted to ask a (possibly) silly question real quick.

I understand that there is a shipping "deadline" on sending out our gifts, but is there any unspoken rules to abide by in shipping out? Like, once my gift is ready can I go ahead and send it out or do i need to wait for a date closer to the holidays?

I'm sure I'm over thinking this small piece, but want to make sure I don't do something wrong here.
