Upgrading to a pvc tank

I have been debating upgrading my boy to a pvc tank and starting a bio active tank. I tried in his glass enclosure but he brutally killed every plant I attempted to add by just running them over, laying on them, or rooting them up so im hopeful if I started the bio active one amd let it get established for a long time he might not just kill everything lol. Anyway I have a few questions before I make the decision to purchase one,

1. Is it really worth it?
2. Does the color matter? I've seen white, black and gray ones and was curious if they make any difference at all in heating or other factors.
3. What is the best supplier? I've been looking at the ToxiRium website as they are having a decent sale right now.
4. Is it a bad idea to risk shipping it? I dont want anything to arrive broken but I know thats a risk I may have to take lol.
5. Do I have to avoid specific heating types in the pvc tank?

Any input would be super appreciated plus if you have any fun suggestions for the future bio enclosure let me know! :)
