magic key and lightning pass question?

i just got a magic key for the first time (!!!!) and i was planning on going to disneyland in a few weeks and purchasing a lightning pass multi pass since it’ll be busy. if i purchase a lightning pass and use it at disneyland and then go to california adventure later in the day, can i use the same pass or will i have to purchase a new one?
