Hot take (kinda)

As the title suggests. (Amidst the Qatar pit strategy controversy.)

There’s been a lot of talk about hypotheticals where Piastri would likely comply to team orders to hand a position back to Norris in an attempt to help him win the WDC, if, next week in AD, Piastri and Norris found themselves running in P3 and P4 respectively, while Verstappen is leading. Obviously this would be done to not spark outrage and place Piastri in hot waters with the team.

But…… what if this happened instead:

Piastri is leading the race from Verstappen, while Norris somehow finds himself in P4 or P5 (really unlikely but possible if chaos is factored in).

Piastri winning the race would still not be enough to win the title, as Norris would still beat him by either 3 points or 1 point (iirc), but at least no team orders would have to be imposed, and Piastri beating Verstappen to the flag technically helps Norris secure the title, while Piastri at least gets to close the season out on a high note.

Idk. Just a random hypothetical to stay optimistic during this time of controversy. (Probably gonna get downvoted for this lol.)
