Mental health

Hi, I have episode of on and off suicidal thoughts and sometimes want to follow though. Family is the only thing that's stopping me from committing it. I'm seeing VA mental health but I can never open up all the things I want to say because they will have to intervene per their policy is I mention I want to suicide. How am I supposed to get help?
