Is Norway worth immigrating to?
Ok ngl I had a whole post asking for advice around my specific situation immigrating to norway but I think it violates the rule 7 so here is a question for discussion which I think could help me regardless.
My boyfriend is norwegian working in oil in Norway and I want to move to norway next year to start a life together and do all that stuff young people do.
I’m Canadian, and hoping to move to Norway because it seems like the better country of the two to move to. We’ve also considered the UK since we love the architectural styles in scotland and the english is easier job wise.
HOWEVER, Norway has very strict immigration rules for non EU citizens. Also, most people immigrating dont speak norwegian, obviously I plan to learn norwegian since its my partners language and one I hope my children will speak too, but its a huge caveat going into the job market to start.
*So do you guys think Norway is worth it for foreigners? Or is Canada, UK or some other country a better place to start a new life and family in?
Does having a partner who is a norwegian citizen change things/ make it easier? Or change nothing at all?*
I’m curious what people who have lived in norway and other countries think and how they compare.
