Question for veterinarians in US/Canada

Hi everyone. I’m thinking about applying to vet school in Canada, but I’m really unsure about the financial side of the career. My family is not wealthy at all, and my grades are strong enough for medical or dental school as well. Even though I have wanted to be a vet since I was a kid, the salary concerns are making me hesitate.

I keep seeing articles saying vet salaries in the US and Canada have been going up recently. For those of you already working in the field, do you feel like things are actually improving? Do you think veterinarians will eventually get paid closer to what they deserve, or do you think salaries will stay around the current range?

Any honest insight from vets or students would really help me understand whether this is a realistic path financially. Thanks in advance.
