PH GOVERNMENT

I don’t know if I’m just being too emotional about this topic, but I’m exhausted from all the corruption in the government. It feels like there’s no good moral compass left among those who are supposed to be educated and serving the public—maybe not all, but most.

I’m grateful to have been born into a family that lives a comfortable life, but I find it unjust to simply sit around and do nothing. Yes, there’s the option to migrate and escape this terribly poor management of the government, but what about those who are voiceless?

On my way to work, I saw an old man in a wheelchair selling rags just to earn enough money for a single meal to last him the whole day. It was heartbreaking. I apologized to him because all I could offer was food and a little money. He told me, “Okay lang ma’am, sanay na po.”

How inhumane it is that those in positions of power—those who could make real change in society—choose instead to feed their endless hunger for money and influence.

Sorry not sorry, Tang ina nyo mga corrupt.
