Came back to StrongLifts after 7 years

progress

Got divorced and decided to do the hit the gym thing to try to rebuild my self confidence. Did the program pretty regularly, three times a week. Nothing better to do with my evenings so I hit the gym. Got really strong. Moved onto Madcow after I hit 275 squats.

From there I worked my way up. Eventially got married again and married life got busy. Was doing school, had a new stepdaughter, licensing tests for my job. Eventually my workout routine fell to the wayside.

My PRs i managed to hit were 405 squats, 395 DL, 175 OHP, 245 bench and 195 Rows.

Fast forward to now, I got tired of not being as strong as I was before. I finished my degree. I got all my lifenses I need for my job. My stepdaughter is a teen now so she just hides in her room all day (mostly kidding about that ) so now I have more free time at night. I started the StrongLifts program again around mid September.

I went light to ease myself back into it. Started at 135 squats and deadlift. 115 bench. 75 OHP and 95 rows.

I‘ve been pretty consistent trying to go at least twice a week, hopefully three times.

My numbers from my latest workout

All 5x5

Squat 285

Bench 185

OHP 135

Rows 165

and then deadlifts 1x5 is also at 285.

I’m feeling good about myself again. Really enjoying seeing the numbers go up every workout. Eventually I’ll need to hit Madcow again because 5x5 lifts at these weights is starting to kill me but muscle memory really is a thing and just wanted to share if you fell off the wagon you can always jump back on again.
