The normalization of Lando Norris hate train is the downfall of this sport's fandom space

First of all I can see why people might dislike him and I am fine with it. People can choose to like and dislike whoever they want. Okay with this out of the way let's get to the real deal.

Lando Norris who was universally loved by the Formula One fandom space went on to become the most hated guy. Yes he has made some bad comments but you have to understand that the both “its not talent it's luck” and “you had the fastest car for 7 years” came high off the adrenaline of awful races for him and as far as i know the brazil 2024 comment was taken out of context and lando personally applogised to lewis for his comments in cool down room in hungary.

This guy cannot do anything without f1 fandoms pilling on him and reaching disgusting low levels of morals to wish harm on him. He can't joke, he can't give his opinions, he can't give response to a jab that was made against him, he can't show frustration without f1 fans acting like he isn't allowed to do any of this and proceed to do what they usually do. Everything he does on the race track is a conspiracy theory for people to push the sabotage allegations against his teammates meanwhile if anyone has lost out because of papaya rules it's him because how come Lando got the heat for both Hungary 2024 and Monza 2025 when he was faultless in both of those races.

Journalism in this sport is at an all time low where these reporters will do anything for clicks as far as feeding into fans bs about sabotages. This is the situation of f1 fandom space where a fandom can spread lies and harss whoever they want without considering the human part of it. They drivers are humans, they can make mistakes, they feel extremely horrible when after a race they come home to people telling them to unalive themselves. Lando hasn't used his twitter for more than an year, he isn't allowed to interact with his fans for the sake of his own mental health. And while we are at it weak mental health is not a "skill issue" you can use to hate on a driver especially when former drivers are actually standing behind lando because they consider him to be a spokesman of this issues in formula one.

All i am saying is that you can dislike whoever you want, it is a competitive sport not a tea party, but don't let your comments be the reason someone genuinely feels horrible about themselves, you never know how bad of a mental state these drivers can get in.
