Work permit under francophone

Hi guys just a question my work permit expires in Jan 2026 end. I just gave the TEF exam for work permit but i think i will have to give it again as in last test i did not well. Now when i checked the exam dates the earliest i can get is 20th Jan somewhere. So any suggestions to go on visitor record and give the exam. And once i get the score can i apply the work permit from inside canada or i have to be outside if i am on Visitor record implied status. Thnx in advance.
