(D2) Harding is going to set another college football rushing record
So back in 2023, Harding went 15-0 and set a new college football (all divisions) record by rushing for 6,160 yards, an average of 410.7 rushing yards per game. They became the first college football team in history to rush for over 6,000 yards in a season.
This year, Harding is 13-0, playing in the quarterfinals of the D2 playoffs, and they are currently at 5,919 yards, an average of 455.3 rushing yards per game. They're likely going to break their own record in one less game this year. There's a pretty decent chance they're going to win their quarterfinal game, and if they win that, they're almost definitely going to win their semifinal game, and then have the national championship game to play. They could put this record absurdly out of reach for anyone else (besides them) going forward.
Just thought that was fun to share.
