First time user

My friend gave me a Rakuten referral that I used for a purchase and got an email from Rakuten confirming my purchase shortly there after which is great! However the friend that referred me took advantage of the some offer sitting beside and did not get any confirmation email and the offer is not showing up on pending or the referral bonus for me. What should we do? I'd feel terrible if they didn't get what's due as they went out of the way to hook me up.
