Can we stop attacking shippers?

I'm namely talking about shippers who ship characters who aren't canon. Why are we personally attacking people for having opinions? They're not hurting anybody, they're just expressing what they think and how they interpret the show, and people are so hostile to them. You can absolutely disagree with them, but to go out of your way to aggressively invalidate them is toxic and even harmful. This goes both ways by the way, shippers obviously need to do the same to those who don't agree with their ship. But can't we all just respectfully disagree with each other and leave it at that? Let people interpret the show the way they want, and if you don't like what they say, just ignore and block. You can have all your negative thoughts, but keep them thoughts if they're not friendly.
