Need Advice please from current software engineers/developers

Hii! I could really use some advice. I’m graduating soon, and my cumulative GPA is pretty low because of my first major in neuroscience. My computer science GPA on its own is around a 3.5, but when combined with my other major it drops to a 2.8. I realized late in my junior year that I wanted to focus more on CS, but I didn’t want to drop the neuro major after already completing all the required courses, it felt like a waste to let it go.

Lately, the GPA situation has been weighing on me mentally. I know people often say “GPA doesn’t matter that much,” but I’d really like to hear directly from actual software engineers or developers. Experience wise, I’ve done two co-ops in biotech and big pharma as an embedded software engineer, 1 summer internship as well under the software team, I’m super involved in a CS club at my university, I’ve TA’d a few classes, and I’ve worked in a computational neuro lab for two years, so I do have early experience.

My questions are: • Is my cumulative GPA going to hurt my job search? • Would pursuing a master’s help? • I’m also interested in possibly getting a PhD in CS, but I’m not sure how much my GPA impacts that path either.

Any advice would really help. Sorry if this is just me overthinking but gosh I can’t help to panic a little before entering the real world lol. Thank you!!!!
