Great wolf lodge grapevine has a bed bug problem
If I could give zero stars I would. I’ll start off with the fact that hours before check in, they called us to tell us the room we had booked was “unsafe” for guests. So they gave us a room that did not sleep all the guests that were coming into town (from Minnesota,Wisconsin, and Kansas we all traveled 12,14, and 6 HOURS to get to Texas for the holidays) upon arrival at the hotel, they gave our family an even smaller room than what they promised when they switched our rooms. They gave us money off the room and park passes to make up for it. Good all was great until we found LIVE BED BUGS crawling around our room. I now think we know why the first room was “unsafe.” We caught it and brought it down to the front desk (pictures to follow of the bugs in the bed, I didn’t get a picture of it in the cup because I wasn’t thinking in the moment with the post) to which they offered to heat treat our stuff and gave us a cabana because we no longer had a place to stay and had to figure out other arrangements. They gave us free food while at the waterpark which really was nice of them and our server Tiffany basically saved the day so we had a few hours of fun before what happened after. They told us to wait 4 hours and our stuff would be good to take home, we waited 6 and when we went up to grab our stuff, thank goodness my brother in law took a picture of the stuff BEFORE we left the room because it was UNTOUCHED and they tried telling us that our stuff was “good to go” then my brother in law said no the stuff is untouched it was never treated. Now we have no place to stay no clothes to wear with bed bug infested items. This is when we were told our report for our room came back positive for bed bugs. No shock there since WE CAUGHT a live one crawling on the floor. So my bother in law asked if the gift shop had clothes or pajamas cause we had nothing to wear, they did give us those for free. However, We had family pictures the next morning. Now none of us had our clothes for those and they had to be cancelled. The kids are only this young once. And because of this we missed out on getting those. We asked them to treat the stuff and call us immediately for pick up. We waited up until 2am. No communication from the staff. My brother and brother in law ended up just going to the hotel to find they might have treated our stuff but everything was ice cold under the tent. Oh and the front desk guy was as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop. My brother ended up looking up the instructions on the internet to turn the machine on and set a timer to come back in a few hours. Again no help from anyone at the front desk. They ended up letting themselves into the room because somehow the wristband still worked. Aside from Bailey the night manager and Tiffany our server from the cabana, and the guy letting us in at the water park great wolf lodge grapevine staff is beyond incompetent. DO NOT STAY HERE. They have a bed bug problem and they are trying to keep it quiet. We saw exterminators there, and when we said we saw them (like 4 people in our group saw them, we were not imagining it) on our floor and we had not been informed we were lied to stating “they had no exterminators on site today” worst hotel experience of my lifetime and I will never go back. My poor mom whose house we stayed at since none of us were going back to that hotel had to treat things when we got there cause also we know one of the “loads” of “treated” stuff wasn’t actually treated. We accidentally left something plastic in it and if it were actually heat treated it would have melted. So they sent us home with things that were untreated from a bed bug infested room. My poor mom spend hours cleaning and sanitizing everything. Our holiday was pretty much ruined by great wolf lodge. I would hate for someone else to have this same experience. Be warned.
