On the Origin of the Big Bang: Evidence, Mechanisms, and Open Problems
We provide a compact, self-contained review of the observational pillars of the hot Big
Bang and a reproducible pathway to confront simple extensions—including a minimal EFT
“VX/Activation” with a derivative B−L coupling—with public data (Planck 2018/ACT DR4,
BICEP/Keck BK18, DES Y3, Pantheon+, BOSS/eBOSS BAO). Evidence and methods are
clearly separated from speculative mechanisms. The model-comparison panel is included as
a full-page insert. Likelihood terms are explicit and a reproducibility checklist is provided.
