Is this normal?
I am 45, entering menopause, and have admittedly put on a few pounds.
I’m 6’1”, small-boned, and have always been really thin. (A size 2 even after having my kids). But with my hormones going bananas, I’ve put on about 15-20 pounds. I still wear a 4-6, my chest has increased from a 34B to a 36D, and yes I have a little tummy.
My fiancée keeps telling me that I am disgusting and I’m fat and he is “revolted” by me, because I weigh the same as he does.
I have a shit appetite, but still eat, just a lot less (doctor said that’s normal), and healthily. I do yoga, and am relatively active daily.
He has had issues in the past with ED, but refuses to go to the doctor, and takes it out on me with cruelty and has admitted that he’s watching me break down with a smirk.
I have nowhere else to go, and I am seeing a therapist and on anti depressants, but I’m at a loss as how to move forward. I moved halfway across the country to be with him, and I’m stuck.
He throws every fault I have at me when he gets angry. My kids, my family, my late brother, past SA, name it.
I just needed to get this out somewhere because I’m at the end of my very frayed rope and am trying desperately to hold on to the last connections I still have.
I hope this makes sense.
He just slammed a door in my face while ranting and I didn’t retaliate except to say “I hope you can get help.”
Yes, I have video. But he holds sway in this town. I don’t.
