How not to dread christmas?

Before i say anything, i am not The Grinch nor am I a Scrooge, i do not hate/dispise christmas. But it's my family, who every year without fail always ruins it for me.

I don't talk about my interests with my family cause I've always been shamed for it by them. So when their getting stuff for me, i often just tell them to give me money or a gift card but they insist so i tell them what i like. And it's always "No, this is too weird. Why can't you be a normal girl?" In their defence, a lot of the things I like are niche or hard to come by in my country but the things that aren't, I tell them what it is, the link and the store but it's never enough and they say the same thing "No, this is too weird. Why can't you be a normal girl?"

I see my friends' families not shame them for what they like
