how to calm myself down after thinking i had a gas leak

i live with my parents and regretfully woke them up to see if they could smell a faint egg smell in our hallway along with the bathroom, but mostly our hallway.

my mom got up and said she couldn’t smell anything out of the ordinary (or like gas), and she did make eggs a few hours ago so maybe that’s what i smell.

it could potentially also be the furnace turning on (at least that’s what my dad said) but i’m just nervous at this point and am still anxious despite them thinking there’s no issue.

i’m not really sure what to do now other then try to calm myself down, or if i still smell it then do something else to be cautious
