Textures, graphics, etc.

Can someone explain to me why the ps5 and xbox cannot alter the graphics, at least turn off shadows and such within their settings. I understand they have "strict guidelines", but with hoe massive epic is, they could speak to whoever is needed to speak with to allow these changes, should the player so choose to. I don't fault PC players for turning on perf mode as it does help a ton with seeing other players. But, it puts console at a severe disadvantage, especially this season with the current graphics back to regular. The simpsons season was better as it was all cell shaded and didn't have blades and pther foilage blocking your view.
