cross faculty electives as a first year?

Hi all,

I just enrolled in my subjects for Bachelor of Communications (PR & ADvertising/Social Political Science) and only found out after you can do cross-faculty electives by submitting an e-request. I want to do a random design elective like 88304 - Illustration: Media and Techniques just to switch things up from essay-based subjects and do something hands-on, as I love fine arts.

Would this be worth figuring out now or at a later stage? Thanks
