Kenwood KD-55R
Casual listener wanting to listen to my record collection from 10+ years ago. I dont need crazy quality, I just read that the newer entry level players are low quality that require high pressure on the stylus which can ruin records over time. So I'm searching my local second hand stores for a record player.
Recently found a Kenwood KD-55R. Questions:
- Does this model have the pressure issue? I assume most period record players wont have the issue... If thats not correct, how can I identify which to avoid?
- The KD-55R i found is missing the clip that keeps the arm off the record meaning the arm just moves freely during transport. Is that a big problem or purely cosmetic?
I understand ill likely have to replace the stylus on anything used I buy.
Thank you!
