[M4F] The Hunters (Solo Leveling Inspired)

8 years ago a large Cataclysm opened up in the Ocean separating California from Japan. Out of the water came large monsters known as Magic Beasts. They threatened to wreck havoc on the planet at large. The world's militaries combined forces to keep the monsters at bay but they failed.

During the initial Cataclysm a shockwave released the usage of Astra amongst the planet. Astra is an energy source coming from the Astral plane. Those that have use of their Astra are given amazing abilities ranging from fire manipulation all the way up to Gravity itself. Everyone on the planet has Astra but not everyone can use it.

Those that can use it are called Hunters. Hunters are enlisted by the World Health Organization to fight the monsters as they manifest across the globe. Mini Cataclysms spawn that can Wreak Havoc on the planet.

Hunters that kill Magic Beasts are rewarded with the spoils of war. Felled magic beasts either drop their weapons charged with their innate technique or Astra stones which can be used to make armor tools and weapons for Hunter's. Hunters that keep the weapons of felled magic beasts can create contracts with the weapons themselves in an attempt to boost their rank. All contracts come with positives and negatives ranging from the inability to each chocolate or shortening ones lifespan.

Hunters and Magic Beasts alike are ranked as follows. A being the strongest E being the weakest. It is very hard to climb ranks because the Astra Pool you are born with is what you have for life. The only way to get stronger is by bonding with your weapon or by using illegal means to increase your Astra Pool.

The story takes place in the Bay Area of California. Being right on the beach opens the possibility of high ranking magic beasts popping up out of nowhere.
