Why is the Rankin bass claymation movie "Santa Claus is comin' to town" being shortened?

I just finished watching the Rankin bass claymation Christmas movie "Santa Claus is comin' to town" which is one of my favorites, and I noticed that some of the best parts of the movie are gone like "my world is beginning today" where Jessica sings about Santa and the winter warlock saying he doesn't know how to walk just weren't there but the put one foot in front of the other song is does anyone know why this is or am I just crazy?
