Left stick issue when at max forward deflection

Tech Support

Hey all,

I just noticed in a game that I was occasionally slowing down while moving so I went to mess with the stick settings and while observing the input in deadzone settings I noticed that at max forward deflection with a fairly normal amount of pressure, the input gets a little jumpy. Not consistently and sometimes it jumps far further "down" in input than others. If I put it to just about max deflection with no pressure, it doesn't seem to occur.

Additionally, when I do that thing I probably shouldn't do and generally don't where you pull the stick up and basically do the opposite of clicking it in, it doesn't have this issue (it seemed like it might help narrow down the kind of issue it is). I went ahead and ran a calibration in desktop mode just to be safe but no change.

So my initial thought since it seems to be pressure based and doesn't happen when the stick os "popped up" is that there is some buildup or debris causing this. However, I am an anxious person and don't want to go popping open my deck on my own hunch alone or with only one idea in mind. If possible, I'd like to consider everything and have a full idea of things to look for and check when I do so.

So basically I am making this post to ask for any other causes to consider, anything to look for and do if/when I open it up, any advice on cleaning it if that's the cause, etc etc. I have opened up desktops to clean and replace parts before but the compact nature of the deck has me more anxious than I otherwise would be.
