is it possible to make a swapper/long-distance wand which always transports you to a specific place?
so, why/what am I asking?
i learned recently if you have a spell in an egg and you get polymorphed, it activates the spell.
i thought, "that's neat, but no spell could really make you immortal unless it does something like transmutes local matter into ambrosia or something similar" as in, even e.g. a circle of protection wisp that refreshes itself with healing bolt or something would not cover many cases
so i thought, "why not just teleport somewhere else?" a lot of times, the world at large isn't that dangerous (e.g. the surface), or you've cleared out some large areas (e.g. the main world on the main path) to the point where a sheep might be safe
so i wonder: is there a way to make a wand that e.g. consistently teleports you somewhere safe? one example place might be the critter island over the lake (the one with sheep and deer).
I couldn't think of a way that doesn't encode your local position. you might need some kind of spell component which translates your wand coordinates to world coordinates, i guess.
