Is Longmont ready for the AI wave? (Free talk + Community Launch on Dec 4)

Event

Hey neighbors –

I’ve lived in Longmont my entire life and spent most of my career working in cloud infrastructure. I’ve been watching the "plumbing" of the AI revolution get built from the inside, and I think there's a huge gap between the "Silicon Valley Hype" and what it actually means for our local schools, jobs, and economy.

This Thursday (Dec 4th), I’m giving a free talk at the Longmont Museum called "From Arithmetic to Abundance." as part of the "Thursday Night at the Museum" program

It’s not a sales pitch. It’s a deep dive into:

  • The Physics: Why compute is growing exponentially (and why it matters).
  • The Local Impact: How automation hits the Front Range specifically.
  • The Plan: We are launching Longmont NextWave—a new grassroots group to help our schools and businesses adapt.

We’ll have a skeptical Q&A and a fireside chat. If you’re worried about the future (or excited about it), I’d love to see you there.

Details:

  • Where: Longmont Museum (Stewart Auditorium)
  • When: Dec 4 @ 6:00 PM
  • Cost: Free (Please reserve a seat so we get a headcount)

Link to reserve & see the roadmap: https://longmontnextwave.org/event/the-coming-ai-revolution-from-arithmetic-to-abundance/

Hope to see some of you there to roast my predictions during the Q&A
