Whoever made these domicile floor plans was either high, or someone who loved over engineering a 6 meter by 6 meter room to where a bathroom could be pulled up from the floor, a kitchen pulled out of a wall, a laundry room from the ceiling, and a bedroom from one of the walls. When it all was collapsed, the whole room was a living room.

Gods damned engineers with no budget or space to do shit.

Sgt Twix woke up in his armor. His uniform.

"Babe, wake up, it's time I cook breakfast. But I can't cook if the bedroom is unfolded." Whispered Martha, his loving exhailian wife.

She had a point.

At breakfast, Martha wondered why Twix never took of his armor off last night.

He would explain again his fear that WAD had not gone away.

He feared that the communist party of frost was trying to hide it.

Martha could not keep her face straight.

No one could cover up something that big, there would be easy to spot symptoms on a societal level.

Mass panic and quarantine lock downs even.

This did nothing to quench Sgt Twix's fear.

He saw the riot lock downs, he saw the breadline riots, and the conjure testing in addition to blood testing all sat wrong in the back of his mind.

"Do you even know the symptoms of WAD?" Sgt Twix inquired carefully so as to try not to insult his wife.

"We met at the battle against the infected Orks in the Wadlands. Of course I do." Assured the exhailian goblin woman. "Perhaps work is taking it out of you. Why don't you petition to take a day off for our anniversary?"

"That's the plan." Agreed Twix.

Breakfast was interrupted by caster fire and screaming of shelter in place orders outside their door in the icy corridor.

Then there was the sound of people opening their blast doors, and then caster fire after that as stay at home orders were repeated loudly.

Then the people outside called for backup.

Twix radioed over the orb and then told Martha to put her air tight exhailian brass hazard suit on. The suit looked like a cross between a diving suit, combat armor, and a hazmat suit. It was mainly used at the bromethium distilleries. But it would have to suffice for now.

Sgt Twix radioed again and grabbed his autocaster rifle.

Then he helped Martha achieve a complete airtight seal in her suit and gave her a caster pistol.

"Just take this with you to work when shelter in place is over" the concerned husband told his wife.

He then hid her before coming out to fight a riot.

Here, a squad of frost mages fought with caster spears against a crowd of individuals who violated the shelter in place order.

The blue helmet frost patrol guardsman recognized what he saw. He dared not utter or ask for confirmation of what he saw. His gut told him everything.

Sgt Twix was lucky his wife was allowed out. She was considered an essential worker. Someone had to distill the crude bromethium.

Why?

His whole corridor had been placed on "riot lockdown"... This only started another riot. More blue helmet frost patrol would be called in with crowd control measures... The frost mages would be escorted out.

The government HAD to be stretched thin. Apparently half of all corridors were on riot lockdown.

Sgt Twix would be reassigned from import duty to riot control.

Sgt Twix would be out all night. Only four hours of sleep... Nothing got better by morning.
