Would a CT really show anything?

I had a seizure years ago that almost ended me & it’s still unexplained to why I had it

I have memory loss ever since & feel like my brain is damaged. My doctor said she wanted an MRI but insurance covered a CT instead idk why

Would this even show anything pertaining to brain damage, memory loss, or anything? or just an MRI? I’m irritated because I want answers & don’t know if I’ll get any now
