Zoloft taper (I think my doctor messed it up)
Hi, I need some advice about coming off of zoloft.
I started taking sertraline a couple of years ago and my dose got up bit by bit until 200mg, as of 5 months ago. I recently changed doctors and we agreed this medication isn't the best for me, so we decided to taper it. So far so good.
The thing is, this doctor instructed me to lower the dose from 200mg to 100mg (half!) right away. I started to get pretty bad agitation, anxiety, vertigo and tingles every single day, no matter what I do. As I researched this sub, I found out she should not have done such a drastic cut.
My next appointment is still far away, so I was wondering if there's something I can do in the mean time to ease these symptoms. Should I go back to 200mg? Is there any off the counter drugs that help? I'm relying more on my sos medication (alprazolam 0,5mg), but I know it can cause dependence in the long run, so if there's a safer option, I'd take it.
