It's really surprising to see how low the rates of HSV-2 are in a lot of communities.

Only 8% of men have it.

Only 7% of people in their 20s have it

Only 8% of white people have it

Only 4% of Asian people have it

It is honestly kind of scary to have a virus that such a small percent of the population has. The stats really do paint a grim picture.

It really goes to show how low the chances are to end up here. There was only a 8% chance the guy who infected me even had HSV-2 to begin (probably even lower considering he was in his 20s and younger people are way less likely to have it).

There is an even smaller chance he was having an active OB or shedding at the few minutes we had sex. We even used a condom 90% of the time until he stealthed me

Then there is only a 10-20% chance to develop significant symptoms. Then it's an even smaller chance those symptoms are persistent enough to go to the doctor and get diagnosed.
