Change vertical tabs behaviour when closing a tab

Lets say you have 50 tabs open vertically, 1 is at the top, 50 at the bottom, and go to close tab number 37 on the left.

It will then open tab number 38 on screen. But your mouse is hovering over tab 36 as that has taken the place of 37 on the screen.

Is there a way to make it so it goes to the above vertically tab when closing a tab?
