I watched Edward Scissorhands for the first time last weekend. Yeah, I'm 50, I'm not sure how I avoided it this long.

Anyway, there's this quick scene where Kim, played by Winona Ryder, picks up her little brother's skateboard off the lower bunk of his bunk bed. "I know that deck!" I shouted. I asked AI but it couldn't tell me, it kept insisting that it was a generic prop.

I went back later and looked at the freeze frame and that deck is clearly a Powell Peralta Lance Mountain deck (see second image in this post). It's one of the ones that his son, Lance Jr., drew, and then Lance turned into artwork (he had a series of these back in the 90s).

Extra fun fact: There are three stickers on the top bunk bed (see third image in this post). One is the classic Powell Peralta. I believe that's a Craig Stecyk illustration. The yellow "sign" one is the Powell "Skate Zone" sticker. And I'm not sure what the white one is. Anyone?

Extra extra fun fact: Winona Ryder dated Santa Cruz pro skateboarder Jeff Kendall back in the late 80s or early 90s. Sorry, I wish I had a photo of that.

Extra credit: Does anyone know where the deck and stickers came from? Sometimes someone working on a movie is told, "Go get a skateboard and some stickers!" and they just drive over to the local skateshop and pick something up. I'd like to know exactly where this stuff came from for the movie.

What skateboard deck is shown in the movie Edward Scissorhands?
