Starting a career in finance as a maths and stats major

I'm a domestic 1st year student entering 2nd year from UniMelb and recently switched majors from Electrical engineering to Maths and Stats since I dreaded the physics aspect of electrical. I did a finance subject as a breadth which is an "elective" subject and fell in love with the subject and decided to make the rest of my breadths finance. la appreciate any advice/insight to the difficulty of applying for finance roles or internships as a maths major with good grades and subjects in finance on the side.
