MK1 on PC or PS5 (same account?)

I was told PS5 had the upper hand due to having an online tournament and more optimized for PS5. But I do not have PS plus for online and I want to play some 1on1 with other people.

Knowing that this supports cross play and as long as I forget about online tournament should I go for the pc version?

Or should i get both since they are on sale? Do they share same WB account so my records will be synced in both platforms?
