Kennel cough

So word at the dog park is there’s some kennel cough going around. I don’t want my dog to get sick, but I also don’t want to never go to the dog park again. So, how long do we wait? Are we overreacting? I’m sure that there’s always something going around that we don’t hear about, we just happen to know this time. Any advice/experience is welcome, thanks.
