Struggling with hijab in Sri Lanka
I’ve worn the hijab all my life, before I even knew what it was let alone why I had to wear it. It was never something I questioned wearing probably because my mum had me wearing it at such a young age. So in that sense it was something that always felt apart of me and I never ever had the thought of taking it off or wearing it improperly. However I’ve noticed that in recent times my Iman has sort of weakened and I feel like I’ve lost the meaning of why I wear the hijab in the first place. In a way it feels somewhat oppressive wearing it now. I tried researching about why we have to wear the hijab in the first place to try and maybe give myself motivation to love wearing it again but it had more of an opposite effect. I’m not sure if I’d ever actually remove my hijab cause again I’ve been wearing it for so long that it would make me feel even more uncomfortable not wearing it in public but now I’m in this middle ground of hating wearing it but hating the thought of not wearing it even more. If anyone has any advice that would be great inshallah
