Anyone else stuck waiting for a joining date while everyone else moved on?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to share something that’s been weighing on me.

I graduated in 2025, got selected in a company almost a year ago, and I’m still waiting for my joining date. At first, I was happy and relieved — I thought life was sorted. But here I am, living what feels like an unemployed life even after having an offer in hand.

Watching my batchmates start their jobs, settle into new cities, earn, learn, and enjoy their next phase… it hurts more than I expected. I don’t feel jealous — I’m happy for them — but I can’t stop thinking: “Why is my life still on pause?”

Every day I wake up hoping,

“Maybe today the mail will come.”

Every Friday feels like a nightmare because I know Saturday and Sunday are non-working days — which means no update. Ironically, weekends, which are exciting for employees, feel disappointing for me.

And then Monday comes, and I repeat the same cycle of hoping again.

It’s frustrating. It’s mentally exhausting. Not because I don’t have a job — but because I’m stuck in this endless waiting with no clarity.

Sometimes I feel like I’m falling behind, and sometimes I try to convince myself that everyone has their own timeline and that my time will come too.

If anyone else is going through this — just know you’re not alone.

And if anyone who already went through this phase is reading this — did it eventually work out? How did you stay mentally stable while waiting?

Any advice or just some reassurance would really help.

Thanks for reading. 💛
