How do you prune/pause underperforming ads POST Andromeda?

Help

I'm trying to wrap my head around the new optimization approach after Meta's Andromeda update and could use some input from the community.

Context from what I've learned:

Ben Heath explains that Meta now uses ads at different funnel stages WITHIN the same ad set - so an ad showing poor ROAS might actually be your top-of-funnel awareness ad, while others with less spend but better ROAS are being used for retargeting. His recommendation is to only pause ads that Meta stops spending on, not the ones showing poor metrics.

Will Perry from Paid Traffic Insiders says the new system allows faster decision-making (3-4 days instead of 7-10 days) for cutting/launching ads due to the improved matching capabilities.

The Andromeda algorithm requires 20-30 truly unique ad concepts monthly with real creative diversity - not just headline swaps.

My specific questions:

  1. What's your threshold for "Meta stopped spending"? If an ad got $5 yesterday but $0 today, do you wait 2-3 days to confirm the pattern, or act immediately?
  2. How are you defining "underperforming" now? Are you completely ignoring individual ad ROAS and only looking at spend allocation? Or using a hybrid approach?
  3. With the 3-4 day testing window, when exactly are you making the call? Day 3? Day 4? Day 5?
  4. Does this approach change if you're running ASC (Advantage+ Shopping) vs manual campaigns?
