Long-distance girlfriend suddenly distant—how to get clarity?
Background: We’ve been together a few months; things started very well. She told me I was “perfect” and appreciated our time together.
I’ve done thoughtful gestures, including taking her on a flight to a disappearing island; she even wrote an essay about it.
Communication used to be frequent via text, but calls were rare.
Problem: Recently, her communication has slowed. She sometimes says she wants to call or catch up but cancels or goes silent. She told me she feels guilty and bad as a partner, so I proposed a short communication break to relieve her of that guilt and pressure. She initially agreed it was a good idea. We had a recent phone call (~1 hr) that went okay, but she avoided discussing the relationship or future plans. I texted her afterward asking for a link she said she’d send me, but she hasn’t responded yet.
Context: •She’s coming back to town in December, but our schedules may not overlap. •I want to maintain the relationship if it’s viable, but I feel left in limbo.
Questions: 1. Are her actions a sign she’s losing interest or just overwhelmed? 2. Should I wait for her to initiate communication or be more assertive? 3. How can I get clarity without pressuring her? 4. How do I realistically gauge her interest and commitment?
Ya boy is lost please help 😂
