I just posted this in vintageaudio and appear to just be getting downvotes, but I really want to get this thing working and would really appreciate any tips.

My wife picked up this Grundig KS 650U. The piece is beautiful and I would like to get it to function but in way over my head. I have tried some local shops and nobody wants to touch it (I'm in NJ if you know anyone that might take this on). The unit powers on and the AM radio works. FM has an issue with the tuner but I am ok with letting that go for now. The primary function of this thing will be a turntable so that is what I want to get working.

The turntable unit is not drawing any power. I am thinking it may be easier to drop in a new turntable, maybe even powering independently and just connecting the output to the unit. My basic questions are:

\- 1 the black wires in picture 3 and tan wire in picture 4 are the only wires coming out of the turntable and are shown where they connect to the main unit. Which is power and which is audio?

\- 2 is my idea feasible? Dangerous? if doable I have another turntable with built in pre amp I will attempt to connect before purchasing a permanent solution.

Honestly, any info even pointing me in the direction of some resources to help me understand what I am looking at would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
