Is it possible to smoke daily without becoming reliant on it to eat?
I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually possible to smoke every day without ending up dependent on it, especially for appetite.
For the last few years I’ve fallen into the same cycle. When I smoke daily, after about a week or two I get to a point where I can’t really eat properly unless I smoke. But at the same time the nausea starts kicking in too. I think it might be mild CHS because when I’m smoking more heavily I wake up feeling sick every morning and spend hours fighting the urge not to throw up.
I also have IBS-type stomach issues. It started during uni when I noticed weed would help me eat and distract me from the stomach pain. When I’d do a tolerance break, the pain would ease for a bit, but eventually it carried on even when I wasn’t smoking. So I’d go back to smoking to help myself eat again, and the whole thing turned into a loop.
Now I take regular tolerance breaks because I reach the point where I literally can’t eat without weed. After two or three weeks off my appetite usually comes back, and I tell myself I’ll smoke less… but once I start again, it slowly repeats.
I always try to do things “properly”: I eat breakfast and lunch before smoking, and I only smoke in the evenings. But even with that, I still end up relying on that evening joint to be hungry, and then I overeat late at night. Within a week or two my sober appetite drops again and the nausea returns.
Has anyone actually managed to smoke daily without getting dependent on it like this? Or is it just not possible for some people? If you’ve been through something similar, how did you deal with it, and is daily smoking ever sustainable?
Any advice or experiences would help. I’m trying to find a balance, not necessarily quit forever, but it’s starting to feel like daily smoking just doesn’t work for me.
