[OoT] I just finished my first Zelda game and I need to tell someone.
Growing up, my family never had a Nintendo console, except maybe a GameBoy Color, which I wasn't really attached to and barely owned games, even today if I were asked, the PSP is probably my favourite handheld, so naturally I never got into Nintendo games at all.
That was until recently I decided to acquire a 3DS and play some games, after hearing about the Zelda movie announcement I decided to get into the franchise, and as you'd guess my first choice was Ocarina of Time as I had heard about it a million times but knew absolutely nothing, I didn't even realise it was an N64 original.
I was not completely sold on the hype of the game and had a few lingering doubts, but HOLY SH*T.
After finishing it I can confidently say it is one of my favourite games I've ever played, it is unbelievably good, I don't understand how have I missed playing this for so long, I may be past my childhood but this game brought back that feeling I've not had in a long time.
The entire sequence of acquiring the Master Sword and leaving the Temple of Time had my jaw dropped. The story is so simple and ingenious, I adored playing the Ocarina, and the Forest Temple? absolute masterclass in puzzle design. I couldn't believe a game so old holds up to the test of time this well (granted I played the 3DS version).
I had to look up a few things as the game does sometimes give obscure hints or I may have missed them, I didn't realise you could >!go back in time!< after quite a few temple completions, some puzzles had me quite puzzled, but ignoring the minor nitpicks I may have, this is an absolute must-play game in your lifetime. It deserves all the praise that it gets.
Now that I've gotten it off my chest, what should be my next absolute must-play titles for Legend of Zelda.
