gasoline spill on helmet

hello. While refilling my bike at a gas station I accidentally spilled gas out from the tank which due to the pressure coverd my face with the helmet on and the visor up. The smell went away, i don't know how much gas came in contact with the helmet. Could the helmet be damaged?
