Superficial Clot - Not Dissolving

About two months ago, I was diagnosed with a superficial clot that runs from my ankle almost up to my groin. I’m 6'9", so it’s a long clot — LOL! I’ve been on Eliquis for the past two months, taking 5 mg twice a day. Unfortunately, I found out today (after my 3rd ultrasound) that the clot hasn’t changed since the ultrasound from about a month ago (the 2nd one). There were improvements between the initial ultrasound and the 2nd, but things have stalled since then.

I’ve been referred to a hematologist to figure out what’s going on. I’m freaking out a bit, even though I know my situation isn’t as serious as a DVT or PE. I’m mostly just trying to understand what’s happening so I can finally get my knee replacement surgery, which has been postponed because of this.

Has anyone had a similar experience?
