Can I drop a GCSE

Post Exam

explanation: i do core subjects (had a mock where i failed maths and science but that is it and its a working progress) but food gcse has been stressing me out for nea2 , there are countless things im uncomfortable with in this class but the worst is my stressed time management and the fact i barely cook at home, i just took it bc i didnt like the other gcse option/s but i loved the theory side and passed that but i dont need it in college tbh and it feels like extra baggage and stress and the only reason i continued doing it was because i like someone in my food gcse class. anyways we have this place in school called "the base" that my friend goes to because she dropped history and now she uses the extra time for revision on her core subjects and catch up on stuff like graphics, and that feels like a way better option for me since i don't need food gcse and i dont wanna re take maths in college , i just want to focus on my A-Levels, so what om asking here is it too late as a year 11 to talk to head of year and request to drop this class?
