I’m trying to figure out whether buying an OLED monitor without warranty is a bad idea
Normally I don’t really care about warranty when buying tech, but with OLED I’m not sure that mindset applies. Burn-in, pixel wear, and uniformity issues seem like things that can happen over time.
Right now I have two options:
1. XG27UCDMG - sold in my country with full warranty
2. PG32UCDM - I can order it from Amazon for a similar price, but it comes with no warranty in my country
(And there are a few other OLED models on Amazon at similar prices, all without warranty as well.)
So my questions are:
- For OLED specifically, is warranty a must-have?
- Is it worth paying more / giving up better specs just to get local warranty?
- If you take good care of the monitor, how likely is burn-in or panel issues over a few years?
- What would you choose in this situation: safer local purchase with warranty, or the “better” Amazon deal with no warranty?
Would appreciate any real experiences or advice from OLED owners. Thanks!
