Since yall seemed to appreciate my first post, here's a little more information for you about how BJWs belief in Scientology guides his behavior:

In Scientology, Hubbard defines certainty as equal to sanity. He proposes that the more certain you are of something, the more sane you are. This is a complete inversion of reality. As none are more certain of their beliefs than the patently insane.

I was born and raised in Scientology. For most of my life, I was completely certain that Scientology was the truth. Leaving then, was a process of becoming uncertain about what I believed, and discovering the actual truth; that Scientology is a scam.

Now, I am certain of very little. I try to trust what I see with my own eyes, but even then, only barely, as I am Schizophrenic and prone to delusion. I am more "sane" now, in my constant questioning and doubting than I ever was in my certainty while in the cult.

Brandon is still under the delusion that (as Hubbard writes):

*"Knowledge itself is certainty; knowledge is not data. Knowingness is certainty. Sanity is certainty..."*

Brandon believes that he has found the "true knowledge" of the law, and is therefore completely certain of the correctness of his actions.

When he gets something wrong, he doesn't doubt his own certainty, he just assumes that there must be knowledge he doesn't have. This is likely how he justifies his failures. Hubbard followed the same pattern of behavior.

When Dianetics didn't work, Hubbard didn't stop and question the validity of his system, but instead sought to do further "research". This lead to the development of Scientology. And the rest is history.

Brandon is doing the same trick. He never questions the "knowledge" he has, because (he feels) to question himself is equal to losing his sanity. So instead of doubting himself, he just seeks further certainty through "knowledge" e.g. new interpretations of case law or whatever.

Im telling you this to illustrate that Brandon is doing a "Scientology" but with his own nonsense. He is following Hubbard's pattern exactly. He sees none of his shortcomings as "failures" but rather as steps along a path of research toward an end goal of perfection. When something doesnt work, he takes it as progress, not failure. And he simply moves the goal post again.

Much like Hubbard with Dianetics, Brandon has lost a lot of followers as he has "advanced his research". But those that are still adherent, are fanatically devoted to his false system.

It's so weird to watch as he creates a cult on the backbone of his own insane belief system.

But why not be more open about it? Why not attribute his certainty to Scientology?

Because he's actually in trouble with the cult for what he's doing.

Early on, he was having other Scientologists (some of whom were staff members) follow his system and stop paying taxes. This is a big "no no" in Scientology. In order to be allowed to take services, you have to be in good standing with the IRS. This is because Scientology is afraid they could lose their tax exempt status if Scientologists are found to be avoiding taxes.

When the cult found out what Brandon was doing, they called him in and told him to stop. He refused.

So yes, Brandon is too crazy for Scientology.

He is currently barred from Scientology services and will likely never be allowed back. But Brandon still very much *believes* in the subject of Scientology.

He once told me that he was doing all this so that he could help Scientology "save the planet" because he thinks that once he figures out how to get "infinite money", anyone using his system could easily afford Scientologys "Bridge to Total Freedom", which costs hundreds of thousands of Dollars.

He unironically thinks once he figures this all out, he will be welcomed back and heralded as a savior.

This all began for him because he was in a lot of debt due to making huge "donations" toward Scientology services. Desperate for a solution, he stumbled upon the sovcit movement, and because of his self certainty, thinks he knows how to do it better than anyone else.

The road to Brandon becoming his own little cult leader is paved with bricks stamped "Church Of Scientology".

Isn't that a trip?
