The power of now Eckhart Tolle
I read this self help book when I was in a low place and it gave me deep peace and connection to the presence of God. I became Catholic shortly after, believing Jesus is God. After delving into the Catholic faith, I recognize the issue with the book as it feels new age. Talking about religious teachings without the religion… I’m currently suffering and can’t help remember the blocks this book helped me remove in order to connect to God. Knowing Christ is God, would reading this book keeping that in mind and replacing God with Jesus, be spiritually damaging?
Anyone experienced reading from a Catholic perspective?
I also know there are other books, this one I already bought and have available to me now. I read the Presence of God written by a priest and it was good but it didn’t really teach how to reach that state of connection, just how it felt and that it was available at any moment.
Wisdom is accepted, I’m still very new (1 year into Catholic faith)
